Emotional reunion as survived father in tears hugs daughter after quakes in Türkiye

ADANA, TÜRKİYE - FEBRUARY 13: A week after the devastating earthquakes that struck Türkiye, Anadolu Agency Video News videoed the emotional reunion of a father and a daughter who were pulled out alive from the debris of collapsed home in Hatay province.The AAVN camera captured Hamza Ezer, hugging his adult daughter with tears in his eyes as he says “We have no one left. Daughter, I have no one left but you.”The daughter Elcin reunited with her father in a facility after she was released from the hospital.Hamza Ezer (71), his wife Yildiz (61) and daughter Elcin Ezer (38) and grandchildren Mertcan (13) and Naz Olmez (8) who lived on the 2nd floor of a 4-story apartment collapsed in the Defne district of Hatay, were buried under the rubbles after the devastating quakes.The father Hamza was rescued 18 hours after the first quake while his daughter was pulled alive after 81 hours.The elderly man is now staying in the Çukurova Journalists Association’s facility in Adana province.Elcin Ezer stated that while she was trying to leave the house, the ceiling collapsed on them during the strong tremor.“I gave the rescuers my daughter first. My daughter died in my arms. I couldn’t save her. I can’t afford to save her. My son and my mother are still under debris,” said the grieving mother.She said she hit the rubble with a stone under the collapsed building when she heard a voice from outside.“It was dark and I couldn't see anything. I heard my ex-husband's voice. He saved me, and sent me to the hospital. He buried my daughter,” she added.The mourning elderly father said “I swear it's impossible to describe the feelings I'm feeling right now. I'm back from the dead, and so is my daughter.”Noting that he remained under the rubble for 81 hours, Ezer said, "My daughter died in my arms. I could not afford to save my daughter.
