Priceless Karun Treasures exhibited in Turkey's Usak
USAK, TURKEY - SEPTEMBER 14: The Karun Treasures with 432 pieces of priceless artifacts including two-time stolen winged seahorse brochure are displayed in Turkey's western Usak province.The Karun Treasures, known as Treasures of Croesus, belonging to the King of Lydia Croesus (560 BC - 546 BC) was opened to visitors at Usak Archaeology Museum.The two-story museum with a total of 2,500 historical artifacts has a covered area of 14,500 square meters, Usak Archaeological Museum director Serif Soyler told Anadolu Agency. "We think that the Karun Treasury, which is displayed in the private area on the second floor, will receive a great deal of attention," Soyler noted. There are artifacts from the Paleolithic Age to Turkey's early republican period, he added. The last king of Lydia, Croesus died 546 BC was well-known for his great wealth.He conquered the Greeks of mainland Ionia in western Turkey and was in turn subjugated by the Persians according to the official website of Encyclopaedia Britannica.
