NATO's BALTOPS 24 military exercise continues in Sweden

STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN - JUNE 11: Servicemen from the US Maine Corps and Stockholm’s Amphibious Regiment have joined forces for the Baltops 24 military exercises on the island of Uto, located in the archipelago of Stockholm, Sweden.The exercises are the largest regional joint operation conducted by NATO in the Baltic Sea region and also focus on amphibious operations, including landing troops.This year’s exercises are especially significant as they include Sweden and Finland, two new members of the alliance.The increasing tensions in the region, Russia's increased military presence, and NATO's unification with two newly joined countries against possible threats, the exercise carries great importance.(Footage by Narciso Contreras /Anadolu Agency via Getty Images)
