A scientist from St Bartholomew's Medical School, who is working on a male contraceptive (birth control) pill, explains diagrams that he has drawn on a chalkboard relating to male hormones: 'Now this testosterone is necessary for the development of the sperm. You need large amounts of testosterone in here for this development. You need relatively small amounts in the the general circulatory system to maintain accessory organs and in fact for the sex drive.'
