Underwater symposium: Turkish divers host unconventional tourism assessment meeting

MUGLA, TÜRKİYE - APRIL 16, 2024: Divers held a representative tourism assessment meeting under the water in the Mugla province of Türkiye on Tuesday (April 16). Three instructors from a diving school in the Fethiye district of Mugla descended 5 meters into the water and set up a meeting table at the bottom. They performed a fictitious enactment of a meeting on assessment of tourism season, in honor of Tourism Week. One of the divers mimicked taking notes on an actual computer and the two others carried out a Q&A session, all the while a school of fish swirled around them. Omer Diktas, the school manager, said they conducted an array of such intriguing activities to promote diving and excite the curiosity of young people about the sport.
