RUSHES: Film: 'I Came By' cast interviews

Film: 'I Came By' cast interviews; ENGLAND: London: INT Babak Anvari (Iranian filmmaker) interview SOT: Reporter: "What a film - you made Paddington Bear really horrible" BA: "Aw- I love Paddington Bear - both films are amazing. That's how incredible Hugh Bonneville is, how versatile he is as an actor. We had a lot of turning - Mr Brown is it?" - into a very dark mysterious person." Reporter: "Was he choice number one?" BA: "Its gonna sound weird and I'm ruining people's favourite actor but yeah he was top choice and that was the reason in the script - when I was writing it - even the first time I described Hector Blake - he looks like a British Mr Rogers (Mister Rogers' Neighborhood) and I immediately was like hmmm Hugh Bonneville. Everyone only knows him from his comedies and from these family movies so it will be fun to turn that upside down" Reporter: "What happened when you first said to him or his agent - what about being this horrible man - did they jump at the chance?" BA: "They were very open - his agent got the script first and she was very supportive and then I had a zoom chat with Hugh and he had lots of questions so I couldn't tell if he was like very excited or not - he asked a lot of questions about the character and who he is and what I have in mind. Then after the call I heard from the agent that he's very excited to do it! Yes!" Reporter: "Lets talk about what's going on in your head - because where did this come from? It's terrifying" BA: "I's sorry that it terrified you but I'm glad that you think it is terrifying - I mean it has terrifying moments. But overall its more like a noir thriller. I always wanted to make a neo-noir film in London - its a city that lends itself so easily to that genre - I wondered why not many people were doing it. So that was one of the main reasons but the idea of it actually came to me when I was in my early 20s - still at university. Me and some of my best friends inspired the characters...
