Crowd Rioting

(Original Caption) Polish revolt reported spreading. Poznan, Poland: Youths, armed with clubs and bottles (right), join a band of rioting workers here June 29th, at the site of the Poznan trade fair, during a violent uprising which was termed "the biggest anti-Communist demonstration in a satellite." The crowd carries a Polish flag, stained with the blood of a boy who was slain in the fighting with Polish army troops and police. Communist authorities officially admitted that 38 persons have been killed and 270 wounded in the outbreaks. According to latest reports, the revolt has spread to six other Polish cities.
