Meridian development off Walnut Canyon in Moorpark discovered bones believed to be from an Imperial Mammoth that died there approximately 2 million years ago. Paleontologist were dispatched to uncover the find and stabilize the remains in preparation for transportation to a lab in Santa Ana where they will be clean and preserved.
