Freshman Ohio Senator Jon Husted says in his maiden floor speech to the Senate that America transformed from a nation once defined by sacrifice for future generations into one willing to raid piggy banks, and while 21st century Americans were not being asked to storm Normandy beaches or endure winters at Valley Forge, the task upon them remained both daunting and deeply patriotic, to simply stop spending more than they were willing to pay for today, requiring identification of what they valued and believed worth sacrificing for.
