Commemorative event at the Lieberose subcamp

PRODUCTION - 20 June 2024, Brandenburg, Jamlitz: The documentation site and memorial of the Lieberose subcamp. The Lieberose memorial site in Jamlitz is commemorating the first transport of 2,400 Jewish prisoners from the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp to the Lieberose subcamp on June 5, 1944 with a staged reading on Sunday, June 23, 2024 at 3 p.m. The event, which will take place in the former railroad station in Jamlitz, will focus on the Cottbus track and civil engineering company Richard Reckmann, which not only carried out orders for the Reichsbahn and the Waffen SS with Jewish work slaves in the Lieberose subcamp and in numerous ghettos in Poland and the Ukraine. From February 2 to 4, 1945, immediately before the camp was evacuated, the SS murdered 1,342 prisoners in the infirmary barracks of the Lieberose subcamp.
