(Original Caption) 27-year-old Paul McQuire, Wichita, Kansas, pro among the early leaders in the second round of the $15,000 Phoenix Open at Phoenix Country Club. McQuire posted a 6-under-par (65) and totaled with his 75 previously, gave him a 140. Later in the afternoon Johnny Palmer, Tulsa, Oklahoma, came in with a 140. McQuire celebrated his early showing by wrapping a club for pairing partner Gerald Kesselring, Toronto, Canada, who had 155.
