The optic tract. The transmission of visual information takes place from the retina, via the optic nerve, to the visual cortex. Some information crosses the brain's axis of symmetry (decussation) at the optic chiasma, whereas some is unilateral. All visual information arrives in the left and right lateral geniculate bodies, cerebral relays which transmit this information to other neurons.
