Previews Ahead of Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup

DOHA, QATAR - 08 OCTOBER: A fisherman in front of an exterior general view of the Ras Abu Aboud Stadium a host venue for the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup in Doha. Built on the shore of the Gulf in the east of Doha near the Port and Hamad International Airport, it is moulded out of 974 shipping containers, all the containers are made from recycled steel, and the number 974 which symbolizes Qatar's dialing code. It is the first built in World Cup history that was meant to be torn down, making it the first ever temporary world cup stadium. After the tournament is over, many parts of the arena including all the removable seats, containers and even the roof will be dismantled and repurposed for use in other sporting or non-sporting events, either inside or outside of Qatar. The construction of the stadium involved HBK Contracting Company (HBK), DCB-QA, Time Qatar, Fenwick Iribarren Architects (FI-A), Schlaich Bergermann Partner and Hilson Maron on October 4, 2020 in Doha, Qatar.
