Kathleen Rice Questions DHS Secretary about Trump Travel Moratorium

Secretary of Homeland Security John Kelly tells New York Representative Kathleen Rice at a hearing on border security that reports that he had not seen a travel moratorium issued by the Trump administration in advance were wrong, but that in retrospect there should have been more discussions with members of Congress in both sides of the aisle on rolling it out, which he says would happen in the future at least engaging congressional leadership. Rice clarifies the term temporary pause versus the interpretation of an outright ban on account of a vigorous vetting process, saying he was left with nothing other than an order needing interpretation being void of any suggestions. Kelly says lots of comments are made during campaigns versus governing, that he expected to achieve things in a job he had never had which may not have had, interrupted by Rice to ask about an assertion of president trump that the very, very dishonest media under reports terrorist attacks. Kelly says the responsible press does the best they can to get the facts straight but will go with the story on the best information they have.
