Cape cross (Kaap Kruis in Afrikaans, Das Kreuzkamp in German) is a cape on the Atlantic coast of Namibia, 70 km north of Hentiesbaai. It is a natural protected area classified as a nature reserve (nature reserve) or wildlife preserve (game reserve). Cape Cross is best known today because there is a large colony of sea lions (of the species Arctocephalus pusillus). The fur seals at Cape Cross can count on abundant food resources, thanks to the fish carried by the current of Benguela; annually they consume more than one million tonnes of fish (more than the total national consumption of Namibia and South Africa). In addition to humans, the major predators of Cape fur seals are killer whales and great white sharks and mako; on earth and brown hyenas backed jackals are on the edge of the colony waiting to identify small blocks.
