Since 2008, continental platform veterans camp in Buenos Aires Downtown requesting the National Government to be recognized as war veterans. On April 02, 1982 Leopoldo Fotunato Galtieri, de facto President of Argentina, launched an attack on Islas Malvinas to claim them as Argentinian territory which resulted in a 74-day war where 649 Argentinians and 255 British were killed.
