Hong Kong Democracy Protests

CAUSEWAY BAY, HONG KONG, HONG KONG SAR, CHINA - 2014/09/29: Protestors rest as thousands of young people wearing black T-shirts take part in the second night of a pro-democracy sit-in known as "Occupy Central", blocking traffic on Hennessy Road, an otherwise busy multi-lane thoroughfare in Causeway Bay, Hong Kong. The mood was calm and celebratory, whereas the night before, in the Admiralty district, protestors faced tear gas, pepper spray and batons from police in full riot gear. The Occupy Central civil disobedience movement began in response to China's decision to allow only Beijing-vetted candidates to stand in the city's 2017 election for the top civil position of chief executive.
