100 Year Old Bagpipes Feature In Beating Retreat Concert Launch

LONDON, ENGLAND - MAY 04: Musicians from the Household Division and members of the Commonwealth Children's Choir take part in an Act of Reverence featuring a set of 100-year-old bagpipes at Horse Guards Parade on May 4, 2016 in London, England. The bagpipes belonged to a Pipe Major of the Regiment of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders who died after becoming ill in the trenches at the Battle of the Somme. The bagpipes were brought to Horse Guards Parade today for a performance to launch the Household Division's Beating Retreat concerts, which feature military drills, music and fireworks, taking place on the 8th and 9th of June.
