RIVERTON, WY 10-27-05 -- Beer cans, trash, and an exhausted butane lighter litter a reservation roadside outside the village of Araphahoe in the the Wind River Indian Reservation. Drug and alcohol use is prevelant on the reservation. Half of the tribe is unemployed. The Wind River Reservation is located between the Wind River Range and the Owl Creek Mountains. The reservation is shared by about 4200 Eastern Shoshone and 7400 Northern Arapahoe. The reservationn is located in west central Wyoming. (DENVER POST PHOTO BY KARL GEHRING.)
