West African leaders today urged more global involvement to fight Islamists in Mali as President Francois Hollande said French troops would remain there as long as needed to 'defeat terrorism'. Ivory Coast President Alassane Ouattara, who is also current head of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) regional bloc, said was high time others did their bit to help end the crisis.
