Clifford on December 6 said in a statement to journalists that allegations of sexual abuse against him were 'totally untrue' following his arrest by police earlier in the day. Clifford was arrested as part of a wider investigation into sex offences sparked by allegations that late BBC presenter Jimmy Savile was a serial paedophile.
